Massive protest in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, sets the capital on fire

Barricades are still erected everywhere in the capital, a remarkable police presence, and merchants resume their activities for this 5th day of tension in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince.

The town of Delmas remains paralyzed, this Friday, September 17, 2022, because of barricades made of bricks and blocks. Vehicle traffic is completely paralyzed due to tree branches, rubbish, stones, and metal poles left on the road, particularly in Delmas.

Companies and warehouses such as the 4C pharmacy were ransacked and set on fire by individuals on the night of Thursday, September 15.

The barricades of Tuesday, September 15, 2022, are reinforced in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince, which has forced businesses, commercial banks, and public administration to keep their doors closed in the capital and in Delmas. Only pedestrians circulate in the streets.
